A new role has arisen within a leading financial institution who are looking for a
Tax Managerto join a dynamic working cultural.


Responsibilities:


Corporation Tax and statutory reporting:

  • Management of all aspects of IFRS Tax Accounting covering Current & Deferred Corporation Tax
  • Preparation of Corporation Tax for halfyearly/yearly reporting
  • Preparation of the Company & Group IFRS Corporation Tax provisioning
  • Preparation of Tax notes for yearend reporting of Financial Statements.
  • Review of the foreign subsidiary IFRS tax notes / liaison with foreign subsidiary Finance Managers
  • Manage year end audit from a tax perspective
  • Preparation and submission of yearly Corporation Tax Return to HMRC
  • Preparation of the Corporate Interest Restriction return for the UK Group.
  • Manage timely completion of capital allowance calculations
  • Management of the Group Relief across UK entities

VAT:

  • Production and review of quarterly VAT Returns to ensure VAT compliance
  • Management of the partial exemption method [PESM]
  • Including agreeing PESM, reviewing case law, managing external advisors in relation to PESM
  • Preparing and managing submission of Bad debt (GMAC) and Regulation 38 VAT relief claims

Business Support:

  • Providing tax guidance to the business and Senior leadership in relation to operations
  • Ensuring tax risks and opportunities are understood and manage appropriately
  • Advising on adhoc requests as they arise in relation to Taxation and Financial matters
  • Liaising & engaging and managing external advisors as required and within powers of decisions

Compliance:

  • Ensure tax affairs are compliant. Horizon scanning & advising & implementing new processes as required
  • Coordinate and manage the transfer pricing position and documentation
Key skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of VAT, particularly partial exemption.
  • Working knowledge of Corporation Tax and PAYE
  • Experience of corporate and deferred tax accounting
  • Experience of working in a tax compliance or advisory role within a commercial environment, HMRC or in practice
