    Description

    Job Title: Director of Children's Ministries/Program Director

    Reports to: Senior Pastor

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement programs that align with AUMC's mission and vision.
    • Oversee activities for children in the Nursery-Grade 5 age range, ensuring a safe and engaging environment.

    Main Areas of Responsibility:

    1. Contribute to the creation and integration of church programs, fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
    2. Recruit, train, and support volunteers who minister to children through various initiatives, including Sunday School and VBS.
    3. Collaborate with teachers to develop effective ministry strategies for children.
    4. Attend scheduled meetings, including evening sessions as required.
    5. Promote church programs to the local community, highlighting available resources.

    Addition Responsibilities and Programs:

    • Evaluate program effectiveness regularly, consulting with staff and leadership to identify areas for improvement.
    • Manage the ordering of approved program materials, ensuring timely delivery.
    • Coordinate the VBS program, focusing on its success and impact.
    • Write articles for church bulletins and newsletters, sharing stories and updates.
    • Oversee the nursery program, recruiting, training, and supervising attendants, as well as monitoring supplies and equipment.
    • Work with Children's Church volunteers, developing lesson plans and coordinating supplies.
    • Create engaging activities and programs that cater to children's needs and interests.
    • Support various fundraisers throughout the year, working collaboratively with other teams.

    Additional Job Details:

    1. Cultivate relationships with coworkers and other church committees, promoting unity and cooperation.
    2. Collaborate with diverse ministry leaders, staff, and congregational volunteers to foster connections and evaluate the effectiveness of other church ministries.

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience working with children and their families, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
    • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others, building strong relationships and communication channels.
    • Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and other relevant tools.
