Summary Description


IL Studios UK is looking for experienced Graphic Designers to join their production team to work on a 9-month project involving the complete print redesign of a K-12 math program, which consists of 111 teacher editions and 111 student workbooks plus additional print collateral.

This role will suit someone who has illustration, graphic design and print production experience, and who is looking to gain experience working in a fast-paced production environment.

This role can be a hybrid role (with 2 days a week in the Glasgow office) or fully remote.


Essential Job Functions

  • Carry out spot checks on final files (PDFs and InDesign) to ensure content is of a consistently high quality
  • Designing assets/illustrations as per asset briefs and house style guidelines to ensure accuracy and consistency
  • Creating cover files using templated designs to produce high visual impact, which reflects the program's brand
  • Source, edit, and retouch images to improve their quality, composition, and visual impact
  • Review vendor work and provide detailed feedback, so that any known issues are corrected in future files
  • Meticulously follow guidelines, briefs, and checklists in order to produce teacher and student print materials with mínimal errors
  • Perform other responsibilities within the scope of expertise to support other members of the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field.
  • Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates creativity and technical skills.

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), or Figma.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, typography, layout, colour theory, and visual communication.
  • Knowledge of print production processes and preparing files for print.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, designers, copywriters, and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with branding principles, including developing brand guidelines, creating illustrations and graphics, and designing print materials such as student work books and teachers guides.
