Job summary:

A new exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Air Cyber Service Centre (Air CySC) at RAF Waddington.

We are recruiting for 2 x Administrative Officer (AO) posts, which will form part of a centralised Asset Management team.

The team will be primarily responsible for the coordination of Royal Air Force (RAF) telephony ordering, billing and general administrative support, ensuring the continued development of the Air CySC and enabling the smooth delivery of services.

It will provide a centralised HQ function supporting the legacy Deputy Authorised Telecommunication Officers (DATOs) across the RAF.

Additional training can be provided to help broaden knowledge and understanding of IT systems and associated processes.

The role has an exciting and important part to play in supporting the delivery of telephony capabilities so that our customers can use to enhance their business output.

The position is advertised at 37 hours per week.


Job description:


Responsibilities include:


Assist with the creation and development of new processes and procedures in the delivery of telephony services across the RAF including Asset Management, Auditing and Accounting and ensuring Telecoms services are delivered effectively and to policy across all Units of the Air CySC.


Assist the Team Leader with transforming the current delivery of Telecoms services across Air, integrating within the Air CySC structure.

Streamline processes, standardising policy and ensuring STRFs are updated and audited by the responsible site DSFs.

Together with finance team oversee budgetary orders and approvals for telephony matters across the Air TLB.

Responsible for providing financial scrutiny & policy advice for Telecoms billing across Air to the business.

Ensure effective communication with all DSFs to ensure the smooth delivery of services is maintained.

This will include but not limited to:

  • List of engineers permitted access to Stn Telcomms facilities.
  • Ensure Direct Exchange Lines and Residential phones are audited annually.
  • Provide advice and guidance on telephony matters to Air customers.
  • Managing and amending Emergency Call Procedures.
  • Assisting DSFs with telephony major failures.
  • Managing Mobile Telephone Privileged Access System (MTPAS)
  • Management of AMS capability.
  • Management of ArmorComm accounts.
  • Assist DSF with maintain local telephony records
Conduct audits and annual reviews of telecoms services at CySC sites.


Understand the scope of DD telephony services available within the DD service catalogue, provide advice and guidance to DSFs and CMO where required.

Essential

  • Ability to organise and prioritise work in the face of competing demands.
Desirable

Whilst there will be opportunities to learn in the role, prior knowledge or training in the following areas are beneficial:

  • Previous DATO experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Experience with organising and managing information.
