We have a fantastic opportunity for a Sub-Project Manager to join our project in West Cumbria

The Sub-Project Manager will be responsible for delivering a specific area of the project (to be determined based on experience), reporting to the Project Manager as part of the Nexus Decommissioning Alliance.

This role will also interact with multiple sub-contractors, requiring a great degree of self and time management. Interfaces with appropriate personnel on the project team.


As a Sub-Project Manager you will ensure that projects are delivered within the given timescales and budgets, and to the required quality.

Your duties will include, although not be limited to:


  • Support the Project Manager in development & monitoring of progress
  • Attendance at stakeholder meetings, supporting forward planning in readiness for project delivery
  • Attend walkdowns and working closely with the subcontractors ensure enabling documentation is in place for projects to progress into the construction phase
  • Lead progress meetings with Sub-Contractors to monitor and discuss progress
  • Attend Client progress meetings
  • Awareness of CDM regs within the nuclear industry and implement on all construction tasks
  • Close liaison with the site delivery team
  • Identify and manage specifically those areas that represent significant risk to the Project
  • Work in a highly regulated environment
  • Other duties necessary to facilitate successful Project delivery

About you

  • Degree qualified or equivalent (NVQ/QBE)
  • SC Security Clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance
  • APMQ or Project Delivery Experience
  • Knowledge of Nuclear Project management and NEC3 contract preferred
  • Proven team working and people management skills
  • Good stakeholder and Client management skills
  • Client and customer focused and able to demonstrate evidence of successful collaboration
  • High levels of selfmotivation and drive
