Assistant Underwriter's general duties
Supporting the Underwriters and Senior Underwriters in their role by fulfilling the following responsibilities:

  • Carry out sanction searches and answer the phones on behalf of the team
  • Manage broker and account queries
  • Assist brokers in the use of technology
  • Deliver prerenewal and new business background and information to inform underwriters' decisions
  • Responsible for document production and administration renewals and midterm adjustment, within underwriting guidelines, binding authorities tolerance and agreed SLA's
  • Assist Underwriters in the production of monthly MI for underwriters to present to the board
  • Responsible for stationery and refreshment supply management
  • Attend meetings with brokers and insurers where required
  • Support the Team in ad hoc requirements where needed
What you will need to be considered

  • Good level of education, ideally A levels/Graduate level
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Wellspoken
