Ibk is a community based, not-for-profit social enterprise with over 20 years' experience of providing Direct Payment Support to families, children and adults of all ages with a range of needs. We provide a bespoke matching service, finding the right PA for the right person

IBK are currently working with a family who are seeking to recruit an experienced PA to work with their 7 year old son.

This young person is on the autistic spectrum ,has a severe learning difficulty and some behaviours which may be challenging.

He has 2 siblings and this role will be central to providing some much needed support and respite for the family each week.

The role will include taking the young person to do activities he enjoys, such as a play area or a trampoline park.

There is some personal care in this role too.

The family are looking for a calm and enthusiastic PA who can confidently support the young person if he is feeling overwhelmed and who has experience in children who do not communicate verbally.

Essential

Willing to learn from the young person, their family and friends.
Be friendly, reliable, and honest; and maintain confidentiality.
Be respectful in the family-home.
Be creative and confident in your personal approach to involving the person in new opportunities.
Experience of working with children with autism, challenging behaviours and learning difficulties.
A resilient nature

Desirable

Car driver, holding clean driving licence.
An understanding of the nature of this type of support work.
Experience and understanding of communication difficulties.
Having interests, hobbies and skills you could share with the young person
