Runshaw College is one of the most successful colleges in the country, renowned locally and nationally for our outstanding results, friendly and supportive culture and focus on putting the student at the heart of all that we do.

We value our staff and students highly, and invest heavily in their development, support and wellbeing.

Situated in Leyland, Lancashire, the College is near the M6, M61 and M65 and within commuting distance of Manchester, Liverpool and the Lake District.

As a senior postholder of the Corporation, the Head of Governance has a key role to play in ensuring governors, who are all unpaid volunteers, are well supported to play an active role in college life and that governance is well connected to the rest of the College.

They will provide independent, high-quality advice and guidance to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters and ensure the governing body is properly constituted and manage information effectively in accordance with legal requirements.

To succeed in this role, the Head of Governance will need to have experience of working with boards and governance and policy frameworks in either the public or private sectors.

Whilst knowledge and experience of further education and skills is not a requirement of this role, we will expect any appointee from outside of the further education sector to undertake a programme of development to get up to speed with FE governance and which we will support.

If you believe that you have the vision, skills, expertise, and enthusiasm to make a difference and want to be part of a great team, then we want to hear from you.
