We are seeking a Head of Care with excellent clinical knowledge, has previous experience of managing a nursing home, is passionate about elderly care and wants to make a difference.
About the role:
The post holder must have proven management skills, a positive, can-do attitude, knowledge of CQC regulations and other relevant legislation (including the Health & Safety Executive), a strong understanding of governance, clinical skills, and a passion for elderly care.
You will be expected to provide leadership on all issues relating to clinical excellence and improvement, including mentoring and training staff, conducting supervisions as required, care outcomes, medication administration, resident care plans and risk assessments.
You will be a role model for all staff working within the village and nursing home and help to create an open, positive, and inclusive culture.
You will also be expected to build strong relationships with all stakeholders, such as GPs, Local Authorities, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), Safeguarding Teams and the CQC.
You will co-ordinate all aspects of managing the nursing home within the Company framework.This will include further development, evaluation and monitoring of audit requirements, contribute to policy and procedure development and review, supporting risk management, resident experience, complaint responses, staffing requirements, recruitment, staff experience, clinical effectiveness, and quality.
Experience, skills, and knowledge required for the role
- Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Council and have a valid NMC pin
- Minimum 5 years clinical experience and leading teams (including staff management) in the health sector ideally adult social care
- Understanding of CQC requirements, safeguarding in adult social care, health and safety requirements and other relevant legislation
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and management skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office
- Proactive, friendly, and professional with the confidence to manage own workload
