Project:

The construction of a new nuclear plant in Somerset, 15 miles from Bridgwater, currently one of the largest infrastructure projects in Europe.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Associate Director to join our rapidly expanding nuclear team.


You'll be responsible for:


  • Supporting the Area Director and team to ensure a fully integrated project controls approach to delivery with particular reference to the impact on Transverse Programmes.
  • Ensuring that all changes being driven from the Area take into account the full consequential impact across the project. Area PCM responsible for ensuring impact assessment across the Areas and Transverse Programmes.
  • Working with the Integrated Project Controls Disciplines and the Head of Performance Information and Analysis to ensure processes, procedures, management information and toolsets are able to operate to support the needs of the Project in the two dimensions of the Transverse programmes and the Areas.
  • Ensure alignment of schedule, cost and scope baseline within the Area organisation to allow for accurate performance measurement.
  • Directly manage Integrated Project Controls staff within the Area.
  • Accountable for ensuring that earned value techniques and indices are corrected implemented.
  • Support the forward resource planning and budgetary preparation process for the Head of Integrated Project Controls.

Key Deliverables:

  • Fully integrated approach to project controls driven from the Area Teams into the Transverse Programmes.
  • Monitor and analyse the progress of work within the Area to support the Area Teams to identify key risks and potential recovery plans
  • Share good practice and lessons learnt to support improvements and alignment of approach across the Project.

Agreed Outcomes:

  • Accurate Analysis and Variance reporting to support decision making to minimise impacts of performance.
  • Fully Integrated Project Controls Team supporting PMs in a robust and consistent manner to enable efficient delivery.
  • Monitor Progress and anticipate risks and opportunities.
Essential

  • Minimum of a degree in Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying or other related field.
  • Substantial experience in a Project Controls environment in a Lead role within an Estimating, Cost, Risk or Scheduling team on a major construction project or highly regulated environment/project.
  • Substantial proven leadership experience.
  • Experience of working in a large integrated team over the full lifecycle of a project.
  • Extensive experience in ensuring high levels of safety, security and environmental responsibility in a regulated environment.
  • Experience in the use of industrystandard software, such as CostOS, Primavera P6, EcoSys and ARM.
  • Experience in planning and delivering major infrastructure development programmes
Desirable

  • Substantial proven relevant experience in a Project Controls environment in a similar PCM role on a major construction project.
  • Experience of developing estimates and budgets for major infrastructure programmes.
  • Experience in the Nuclear sector.
  • Professionally qualified with chartered or equivalent status.
