Role Description:

Equity & Debt Securities Settlement experienced Technology Delivery Lead required to fulfil the following role:

  • Work with the team, stakeholders, and technology leadership team to manage the product backlog, deliveries, key risks and issues
  • Develop and implement quality and timely solutions to business and technical requirement as required by key project stakeholders following the department's Agile working practices and principles
  • Understanding requirements to create user stories, test scripts and seeing these through development, QA, testing and deployment to re affirm the end solution meets the agreed requirement
  • Collaborates across teams to build out detailed functional and nonfunctional specifications
  • Effective communication within the team and project to manage risk and escalations where necessary
  • Functional review of the product after each iteration
  • Attending iteration retrospectives to provide feedback and improve the development process.
  • Possesses strong technical, analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to think 'out of the box' to identify the most cost effective, timely and efficient solution to requirements.

The Team:


The team is an Agile, Scrum team who are a collaborative, cross functional group made up of senior and junior developers, analyst/ developers, and technical SME's.

They work closely together in 2 week sprints, are self-organising, and agree between themselveswho will take on each task on the sprint board.

The team will self-retrospect on a periodic basis to learn from what works well in the team and what needs adjusting and development and will determine actions to improve.

The team learns together and supportsone another as required to learn areas that others in the team may not be so familiar with.


Core Skills:


  • Have experience in Global Markets back office core processes within the Settlements back office domain
  • Knowledge of equity/debt settlement lifecycle flows are key with an understanding and experience of SWIFT MT54x messages
  • Be experienced in following current best software engineering practices
  • Be a team player, and have good organisational, collaborative, taking ownership, multitasking and people skills
  • Capable of managing stakeholders and facilitate communications with them
  • Has proficient written and verbal communication skills to support and shape the platform, and to be able to clearly articulate technical designs and business concepts
  • Knowledge of Scrum, Agile and Lean working principles
  • Experience of Specification By Example and user story creation preferred.
  • Have the desire to challenge, ask 'Why?' and understand where the value is
