About the Job
The purpose of this post is to undertake research and development for the Sugarcrete material and project.

The position will focus on the deployment of the material in two life projects, one project for a community centre located in Silver Town in collaboration with Tate & Lyle Sugars and co-funded by Newham Council and another project located in India for a school extension located in a sugar cane plantation district close to Delhi, co-founded by Ecoware and Chemical Systems in India.

These two projects will be the focus of the position for the initial 8 weeks leading to the ACE Construction Week project the first two weeks of October.

The second focus on the position will be the development of a set of samples using different ratios of sugarcane bagasse, lime, fly ash and sodium silicate, the testing of these samples in the SRI facilities at UEL, and the publication of an Academic paper with the results and conclusions.

The testing will include Compressive strength; Tensile strength; Moisture buffering; Cyclic moisture resistance; Thermal conductivity; Acoustic performance.
