We are looking for an experienced orthopaedic Scrub Practitioner to join our team.


Our focus at all times is on ensuring that our patients receive high quality treatment quickly, in clean and comfortable surroundings.


What you'll be doing:

You will be working as part of a friendly, welcoming and expert multidisciplinary Theatre Team supported by our experienced Theatre Manager, Sarah.


This position has no routine scheduled evenings beyond 17.30 however there is an on call commitment and the theatre team do work at the weekend.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning and disinfection of the theatre and equipment, in between, and after the daily theatre cases.
  • Participate in the management of infection control within the department.
  • To be responsible for the "total patient" in your care during the perioperative phase.
  • Act as the advocate for the patient during the intraoperative phase and understand the patient depending on the theatre staff
  • Understand and execute clinical tasks correctly
  • Have knowledge of, and understand the correct "Scrubbing" procedures

What we'll look for in you:

You will be a part 1 registered NMC Nurse or an HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioner and it is essential that you have previous experience in major orthopaedics.

As well as being up to date with current research and developments in theatre practise you will have a sound knowledge of Health and Safety/Risk management within the operating department.
