Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional, and reliable Phlebotomist to join our excellent Nursing Team & Practice. Experience working within a General Practice environment is desired but not essential, phlebotomy skills are essential. Salary is negotiable dependant on experience. A friendly personality, competent clinical skills, and an ability to work autonomously within a busy team environment is essential. Opportunities for training possible.


Main duties of the job (including but not limited to):
Venepuncture

Chaperoning duties

Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses

Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring, and recording

Equipment re-stocking and stock rotation

Our efficient and motivated team consists of:7 GPs.

1 Clinical Pharmacist.

4 Practice Nurses, a Nurse Associate, a HCA and a Phlebotomist.

1 Specialist Respiratory Nurse.

1 Specialist Diabetic Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

1 First Contact Physiotherapist.

1 MIND Mental Health Worker.

1 Mental Health Worker

Regular returning Locum ANP and GP's.

A team of community Midwifes.

Great relationship with the District Nurse team, based in the building.

An organised and friendly patient co-ordinator and admin team.

Job description


The post holder will work under the indirect supervision of the Lead Nurses and Practice management team to undertaking tasks and duties they have been delegated whilst following clear policy and procedures.

They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients.

Hours: 16hrs


Salary:
dependant on experience

Experience

Essential:

  • Experience within a healthcare setting/nursing team.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a GP Practice.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Good General Education.
  • Qualified in Phlebotomy.
  • Computer literate.

Desirable:

  • Qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of EMIS or similar system.
  • Care Certificate.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time


Pay:
£10.37-£11.85 per hour


Expected hours:
No less than 8 per week
