Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives on young people facing barriers to learning and education?_

Esteem Educators are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1-2-1 Mentor to join our team.

As a mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting and empowering young people to overcome their challenges and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities:_

  • Provide 121 mentoring and support to young people facing barriers to learning and education.
  • Build positive relationships and rapport with students, creating a safe and supportive environment.
  • Identify and address individual needs, including but not limited to abuse, challenging behaviour, emotional issues, lack of confidence, mental health concerns, persistent absence, truancy, and punctuality.
  • Develop personalised mentoring plans that focus on the specific needs and goals of each student.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive sessions to enhance academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with schools, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure coordinated support and progress monitoring.
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate records of student progress, achievements, and challenges.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people at all times.

Requirements:_

  • Experience working with young people facing barriers to learning and education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Understanding of the diverse challenges young people may face, including abuse, challenging behaviour, emotional issues, lack of confidence, mental health concerns, persistent absence, truancy, and punctuality.
  • Ability to create and implement personalised mentoring plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Empathy, patience, and a nonjudgmental approach to working with young people.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for transportation.
  • Business insurance for their vehicle, as they will be responsible for transporting pupils.
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
