Graduate Cover Supervisor
Have you been thinking about getting into teaching but not sure how to go about it? Want to experience teaching before completing a PGCE?


Becoming a cover supervisor is a great way to get into education, if you have thought about becoming a teacher or just want to help young people make a difference, the cover supervisor role may well be for you.

You will have to cover lessons within secondaryschools and ensure students are learning and adhering to school policies.

This is a brilliant entry point into teaching, understanding what is required of a teacher and a day in the life of a school and gain some great experience.


  • Tradewind are looking to recruit a graduate or experienced cover supervisor based near Oxford to work on a Ad-Hoc basis (flexible working). Offering a warm learning environment for students the cover supervisor will have a passion to offer flexibilityto students and make a difference in their education experience. This role will ask you to cover lessons, all lesson plans are given prior to your shift start. You will be confident and well spoken in the English language and want to make a difference forthe next generation._

£85 - £105 per day dependant on experience

Must be a driver due to locations of certain schools in and around Oxford

Cover Supervisor - covering lessons for students aged 11-18

Various Schools in Oxford and surrounding areas, working on a flexible basis giving us your availability week by week

Immediate start with a flexible contract on offer from March 2023 or Earlier start date if available

Ongoing CPD offered by Tradewind monthly

A positive can-do attitude is required for this role, a resilient personality would advance quickly

About the Schools - Cover Supervisor
Becoming a cover supervisor is the best way to enter teaching before a PGCE.

As a cover supervisor you will be given a timetable and lesson plan at the start of each day, you will then be asked to monitor students behaviour, ensure they are learning andunderstand the task while ensuring all students are adhering to the schools policies.

You will be assigned 5-7 schools local to your address in either Oxford or any neighbouring towns and will be offered work on your available days, you will not be expectedto ever travel more than an hour but will from time to time have to wait until the morning for a booking, the nature of the job means you may be covering sick/unwell/unavailable teachers.
