Principal Engineer - Sensor Technology
Purpose of the Role:
Using your extensive knowledge of the sensor products and sensor technology in water treatment: you will be responsible to ensure the technical integrity of our customer's sensor offerings, across all phases of the product life-cycle.
You would be expectedto work collaboratively with product management to evaluate opportunities and identify the strategic direction for the product line.
There are 3 key dimensions to the role:
New product / Value Analysis and Value Engineering leadership.

Leading others
Main responsibilities:
- You will be accountable to review and sign off; new products and changes to existing product, to ensure that the required safety / compliance & business requirements are met. These changes can arise from NPI / VAVE / ECN or any other reason.
- Provide technical steering for the product, for example: selection of key components, evaluation of identified risks, feedback on competitive products etc.
- Build technical specifications for NPI/VAVE projects
- Manage the ECN process: Evaluate and prioritize Incoming ECN's
- Monthly report out on ECN status for the product range, including # Open ECNs, # Completed, Time spent, identify risks and opportunities
- Identify resources required to execute the projects in the pipeline
- Project manage / execute smaller NPI/VAVE/ECN/Support projects
- Execute and/or utilise other resources to execute NPI/VAVE/ECN/Support in line with the business requirements.
- Work closely with T&I project management to execute larger projects.
- Provide 2nd line product support for the wider business for questions that cannot be answered by the 1st line support resources: inclined but not limited to: Sales, Ops, SCM, Aftersales.
- Selecting and steering external companies for product / components developments
Main requirements:
- Detailed knowledge and experience working with chemical sensor and measurement technologies in liquid and gas environments. Must have experience with Chlorine measurement technologies and ideally Ozone monitoring (2 Years essential, 5 years Desirable)
- Experience in evaluation of technologies including desktop evaluation through to full scale implementation. Capable of making clear and reasoned recommendation that can be used to steer the product roadmap.
- A good understanding of all other engineering disciplines as applied to disinfection products to interact with other specialists.
- Good communication, reasoning, and presentation skills
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Prioritisation skills & time management.
- Experience in all aspects of process design (conceptual engineering and design)
- Be a point of reference for others for certain product groups
- Experience of leading or managing small teams made up of a range of different disciplines (process, mechanical, electrical, civil).
- Experienced in all aspects of water treatment technologies, within their specific area of expertise.
- Degree level or HNC/HND qualification in a Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or Physics discipline.
