Permanent- Newton Aycliffe- Posted 1 hour agoYou will be responsible for ensuring that subcontractors deliver high quality learning to all learners.

The role will demand a good understanding of Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework.


Specifically, you will have an excellent knowledge of the post-16 sector and its associate quality assurance and improvement processes, including but not limited to; self-assessment, internal / external verification, standardisation, observation of teaching & learning, peer observation, staff development & coaching, sharing of best practice.


The role responsibilities:


  • Development and implementation of robust quality assurance and improvement processes across all funding streams including subcontracted provision.
  • Production and oversight of the annual quality assurance plan including key processes such as observation of T&L, peer observation, focus groups.
  • Management of selfassessment of our performance in line with current Ofsted Inspection Framework requirements, including production and implementation of improvement plans
  • Ensure that curriculum intent across all provision including subcontractors contributes to learners receiving education and training that enables them to achieve highly and progress.
  • Ensure initial assessment across all provision including subcontractors places learners at the appropriate level of study.
  • Lead and deliver a robust programme of ongoing staff development across ITEC and Subcontracted tutors covering themes such as Safeguarding, PREVENT, LGBTQ, SPaG,Pedagogy.
  • Collect feedback from learners and employers across all funding streams and produce summary reports outlining findings, and setting out recommendations for improvement
  • Oversee all quality aspects of subcontracted provision including due diligence, assurance and improvement processes; produce and implement improvement plans where required.
  • Lead on the ongoing development of resources, training material and new provision through Google Classroom / Moodle VLE.
  • Ensure that cross organisational curriculum focused material e.g. learner / employer handbooks, PREVENT Implementation Plan, Safeguarding Policy, LGBTQ material is accurate, current and communicated across all provision.
  • Prepare agenda, chair and produce minutes for monthly Quality Group encompassing all provision (e.g. Apprenticeship, AEB, Subcontracted provision) ensuring that actions are set and impact measured.
  • Support the Head of Operations in the delivery of monthly training and / or Operations Meetings.
  • Work with members of the Senior Leadership Team to support wider quality requirements such as the Tees Valley Combined Authority Quality Cycle, Cyber Essentials, MATRIX etc
  • Manage the Quality Team with regard to aspects of the role that include internal quality assurance across all provision including subcontractors.
  • Liaise with appropriate awarding bodies to implement changes to apprenticeship standards or short provision in response to regulatory changes, or expectations from funding organisations.

The person we're looking for:


  • A good understanding of post 16 quality assurance and improvement processes
  • Excellent transferrable IT Skills specifically in sector specific systems such as VLE's, Online Learning Platforms, Cloud storage (Google, OneDrive etc).
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
  • Highly motivated, resilient and target driven
  • Ability to manage own time and prioritise work
