Role Definition:
To support the Livestock Manager in ensuring the livestock purchased meet all group, site and suppliers' standards. Ensure relationships with farmers., livestock agents and suppliers are maintained to a good level.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain relationships with farmers, livestock agents and suppliers.
Ensure the livestock purchased meets production requirements.
Carry out farm visits offering assistance in drawing livestock.
Carry out tasks in accordance with current animal welfare legislation and company operating procedures at all times regarding safe movements, handling and production.
Ensure livestock deliveries are to schedule.
Carry out all procedures in a safe manner in accordance with the attached Health and Safety responsibilities
Always comply with company policy and procedure on safe food handling and hygiene.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the UK livestock industry
Ideally, applicants will have excellent practical experience of livestock production and good working relationships with the farming community
It will be an advantage if you have livestock procurement or carcass classification experience.

Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Able to form on-going business relationships with farmers.
