The duties will include:

The oversite of the day-to-day operation of the reception, providing a reference point regarding the management of daily activities for staff and customers, and ensuring that health & safety procedures are followed.

Responsibility for the line management of the reception team, acting as a main point of contact for Reception staff, offering support and providing mentoring, training and monitoring Reception staff, and implementing new Reception procedures.

Working closely with other managers to ensure effective operation and ongoing development of their respective functions.

Ensuring a friendly, efficient service for our customers as well as support for the front of house staff in the practice working in their specialist roles.


Working a full spectrum of the shifts which may include early evening shifts, in addition to carrying out regular team and individual meetings.

Provide leadership and direction to all staff in excellent customer service, sustainable practice and appropriate H&S practice. Monitoring and reviewing current Reception procedures and training documentation. Ensure staff are appropriately trained and carry out their roles according to their job descriptions and H&S legislation.

Roster all staff shifts and manage staff absences and holidays. Conduct annual staff appraisals of team with support from the Practice Manager. Monitoring training needs of Reception Team, ensuring that receptionists are managing their duties effectively. Ensure ongoing development of team including provision of regular team meetings/training workshops and annual team building/development days.
