Transport Planner

Dagenham
£26,000 - £28,600 (Depending On Experience)
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm
I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner from a transport background to join a leading waste recycling company who organise multi-drop routes and collections.

- Transport Planning experience is essential
- Previous experience of multidrop planning and use of planning systems
- Good understanding of transport regulations and be able to plan for fleet services and MOTs
- Previous experience working within a transport operation for a waste/recycling company with their own fleet is desirable
- An understanding of the waste industry
- IT skills are essential, including Excel
- Company's collection services must be ran smoothly and meeting service level agreements for customers is key
- Ability to work as part of a team and have strong communication skills
- Previous experience of working to targets in a fastpaced environment
- Must be proactive, confident in working environments, highly driven and have the ability to work under their own initiative.
- Must be open to assisting with operating the weighbridge when needed as well as any other dutieswhen required by management
- An excellent team player, able to work on own initiative and make decisions
- A positive attitude towards work and ability to deal with queries from customers and colleagues
- CPC National / International is desirable
Duties and Responsibilities;
- To plan allocated resource pool legally, compliantly, and efficiently ensuring WTD & DTD legislation is achieved.
- Routing for 30 vehicles daily on average between 2 planners
- System based planning
- Achieve high work efficiency and communication between departments
- Work closely with colleagues within the planning team to ensure fleet utilisation is optimal.
