The company is a multi-award winning, global manufacturer of specialist equipment for the Gas and pipeline industries. As part of continued growth and expansion, our client is looking to recruit an experienced Manufacturing Engineer.

This is an excellent opportunity to pursue a career in engineering new product development within a successful and growing business.

This is a fantastic role, you will be working closely with the Manufacturing Director, you will be supporting the engineeringdepartment in producing accurate 3D CAD models of project specific equipment, along with full drawings and bill of materials (BOM's).

You will be implementing small design changes to improve functionality or the design of the equipment, subsequently updating CAD models, supporting the workshop team with drawings and additional documentation to ensure all equipment is built and commissionedto specification.

Position:

  • Validating CAD models through cross referencing accuracy against completed equipment.
  • Producing bills of materials for project specific equipment
  • Producing engineering drawings to relevant industry standards (BS 8888)
  • Minor design changes to existing equipment
  • Producing equipment manuals and additional documentation
  • Evaluating quality control processes and making recommendations for improvements
  • Analysing and reporting on production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines and waste management
  • Ensuring that the organisation's manufacturing processes comply with relevant policies and government laws and regulations.
  • Reviewing and calculating the costs of the different tools and equipment in the production process and predicting the overheads in future production requirements
  • Analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment placement to maximise manufacturing efficiency.
  • Coordinating maintenance and repair services to keep production equipment operational.
  • Able to work independently and on own initiative.
  • Good communication skills, able to work with clients and colleagues at all levels and to generate clear and accurate reports detailing actions taken and recommended future actions.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own and others time efficiently.
  • An understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical systems is desirable.

Qualification and Skills:

  • Engineering based Degree or equivalent HNC/HND 2:2 or above which is essential.
  • Practical experience working with electrical and mechanical machines, desirable
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material properties & limitations
  • Working knowledge of 3D CAD, preferably Solidworks.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, essential
