Description

My client, who are currently growing, are looking to recruit an Assistant Buyer to join their team.

You role purpose will be to provide support in delivering a great customer experience through excellent product availability and quality and ensuring that the business is the partner of choice with our key suppliers, whilst delivering within Gross Margin% and Stock Cover targets.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Support demand forecasting at Category & Key SKU level
Support management of relationships with key suppliers
Input into Pipeline Management process to maximise sales revenues & delight customers
Delivery date management to allow business to forward sell with confidence and to keep customers updated on when their products will arrive (via Sales team)
Product set up and input of product information and classifications within system
Placing orders with suppliers for products at agreed prices
Tracking shipment & delivery dates on orders and updating systems accordingly
Support management of inflow of stock into warehouse in conjunction with inbound team
Identifying & recommending corrective actions on overstocks
Support annual stock count
Checking supplier invoices match to Purchase Orders and agreed pricing and terms
Develop suite of reporting to achieve greater efficiencies

About You

Numerical and analytical to produce insights to support your decision making and actions
Attention to detail and able to handle significant amount of data (the SKU count is large). You should also be able to zoom out where required to see bigger picture
Competent with Excel and some experience of using software systems
Curious, a good listener, with a desire to learn. Industry knowledge is not a necessity
Team player who is prepared to help other areas of the business when required
Most importantly, you want to commit to a journey of growing a business over a number of years. You want to input to that growth through what you do, to grow yourself, and take on more and more responsibility every few months
