Overview:
Duties include but are not limited to:
To be responsible for day to day purchasing tasks for the business by:
- Raising Purchase Orders on the system.
- Purchase Order monitoring, Chasing late orders.
- Updating the sales team about any delays or problems.
- Processing order acknowledgements from suppliers.
- Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding price, availability & lead times.
- Updating supplier records and stock records.
- Running & updating the backorder report.
- Booking Goods in.
- Sending out quotations to suppliers.
- Monitoring pricing changes on stock items and reporting cost changes.
- Answering the telephone.
- Working with our accounts team to settle any discrepancies.
- Filing.
- Working alongside the Design Team & Production Controller to ensure workflow.
THE CANDIDATE:
The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience having worked a similar role previously.
The successful applicant must possess excellent organisational skills, be able to work well as part of a team, with high attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure.
Essential Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of purchasing concepts
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
- Have demonstrable previous experience having worked in purchase administration or personal assistant roles
- IT literate with a good understanding of MS Office Applications
- High attention to detail
Desirable skills
- Experience of Sage Accounting Software
- Costing experience advantageous
