HDI Global Specialty SE is part of the Talanx Group and is a strong and established player within the international insurance market.

There are currently three people in the Compliance Team in London, which sits within the wider Legal, Risk and ComplianceTeam and is a busy and growing area.


The role

  • Supporting the HSUB Senior Compliance Manager in the delivery of functional strategic plans by handling key daytoday tasks essential to the operation of the Compliance function.
  • Helping to ensure that all activities undertaken by the business are conducted in a compliant manner and in accordance with the FCA and PRA.
  • Updating and communicating all policies, standards of conduct and procedures to the business; and helping to organise training where necessary
  • Assisting with the effective functioning of the Compliance Team, ensuring adherence to internal and external deadlines and meeting our regulatory obligations.
  • Researching and understanding changes in legislation, and how they would affect the business and communicating changes to the business.
  • Responsible for supporting the HSUB Senior Compliance Manager in ensuring that all activities performed by HSUB particularly Compliance Monitoring are conducted in accordance with relevant regulations and in accordance with HSUB's (and its parent HGS)internal standards and controls.

Key accountabilities

  • Monitoring the Compliance Calendar and ensuring that all activities are completed on time.
  • Complete the daily Horizon Scanning and draft communications to the business as appropriate.
  • Breaches Reporting: Work with the SCM and CM to log all Breach reporting to a single location (and ongoing maintenance of the central Breach Log) and to maintain the Breach Log. To Monitor the HSUB_Incident_Reporting inbox and log Incidents reported andescalate these to the SCM.
  • Create and publish the quarterly Compliance updates to the business in the Compliance Focus
  • Review Gifts and Hospitality Requests, provide approval or gather further information as necessary.
  • Assist the SCM with management of the Training Schedule and liaising with training providers to roll out training modules as required.
  • Financial Promotions: Update and standardise the mechanism for logging any Financial Promotions reviewed by the HSUB Legal/Compliance Teams. Maintain the Financial Promotions log on an ongoing basis.
  • Regulatory Communications: Assist the CM and the HSUB Senior Legal Counsel in standardising/updating the log of all communications with HSUB's regulators.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Liaise with the Compliance Analyst to undertake regular review activity for quarterly reporting, including: ELTO reporting, contract certainty, conduct MI; and to undertake other ad hoc review tasks as required by the SCM.
  • Assist the CM with Product Governance reviews and assessments.
  • Coordinate the annual Conflicts of Interest declarations.

Skills & experience
Well-developed Team-working skills.


Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders - internally and externally (including, but not limited to, HSUB senior management business units, DA counterparties and regulators).

4-5 years compliance experience gained within the company insurance market.
