Role Summary


The General Admin / Receptionist plays a crucial role in supporting the faculty and administrative staff within a school setting.

Key aspects of the role include Reception duties, supporting the attendance office and the data manager, and supporting teachers with Faculty based admin.

Your proactive approach will extend to managing school events, maintaining schedules, and administering minor first aid as needed. By providing efficient support and following up diligently, you will contribute to maintaining a productive and organised workplace environment.


This role will provide cover at our Nexus site as well as our other site at Camborne Science and International Academy.


Key areas of responsibility - What will you be doing

Build Knowledge:


  • Oversee the comprehensive operation of reception, managing phone calls and handling incoming correspondence to enhance organisational knowledge.
  • Provide robust general administrative support and accurate recordkeeping to consolidate and strengthen institutional knowledge.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information acquired in the course of undertaking duties for the department.
  • Be responsible for your own continuing selfdevelopment, undertaking training as appropriate.

Build Trust:


  • Welcome visitors in a professional and hospitable manner, ensuring signingin procedures are followed, fostering a foundation of trust.
  • Foster strong and positive relationships with team members, stakeholders, and external partners through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Demonstrate reliability, integrity, and professionalism in handling sensitive information and maintaining confidentiality, as well as ensuring all correspondence and communications representing the College reflect the agreed professional standards.

Prioritisation:


  • Prioritise and organise school events to optimise efficiency and focus on strategic objectives.
  • Manage the Nexus academic diary with a priority on maintaining a wellstructured and organised schedule.
  • Administer minor first aid (as trained) promptly to prioritise the wellbeing and health of students.

Clarity and Energy:


  • Provide clear and efficient general administrative support to maintain a workplace of clarity and energy.

Follow up:


  • Ensure diligent and timely followup in accurate recordkeeping processes.
  • Follow up on relevant resources to continuously adapt and improve organisational processes.
  • Proactively follow up with team members and stakeholders to address any potential issues and ensure accountability for assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications
GCSE's or equivalent to include Maths & English at a C grade or above.

  • Desirable_
First Aid qualification.


Experience
Reception and clerical experience.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Ability to work independently.

Friendly, professional, diplomatic, and tactful

Commitment to child safeguarding and protection.

Experience in educational environments.
