We are looking to appoint a Legal Practice Officer to be responsible for the provision of an effective and efficient administrative function to Legal Services.


As a Legal Practice Officer, you will be responsible for leading and managing the comprehensive business and administrative support to Legal Services, including generating and processing of accounts for income and expenditure, managing and maintaining the case management system, supporting the Clerk to the independent Education Appeals Panel and maintaining Legal Services budget information and records.

You will prepare documents that will be used in a legal environment and in court therefore your work will often be of a highly confidential and sensitive nature.

The ability to work accurately and to deadlines is important.

You will also be a member of the WYLaw Practice Managers Group, which involves attending quarterly meetings, negotiating on consortium deals, benchmarking, and building/maintaining relationships with colleagues in neighbouring authorities.


To be successful in this position you will have good organisational skills and be able to prioritise work in a busy environment to meet deadlines; have excellent communication skills and be flexible and responsive to Service needs; be able to identify problems and resolve issues effectively; and have good IT skills.
