    Dental Officer - Berkshire Community Dental Service

    Base: West Berkshire Community Hospital, Thatcham.

    Berkshire Community Dental Service (CDS) is seeking a dental officer to join their proactive workforce with excellent team spirit. With 7 clinics across Newbury and Langley, serving over 40 staff members, this role requires the ability to drive and have a UK driving license for clinic and hospital travel.

    This position involves being on the rota for the Berkshire Dental Access Centre scheme, providing primary care to patients not registered or unable to receive emergency care under NHS arrangements. Services are provided on weekdays, weekends, and bank holidays.

    Clinical responsibilities include:

    • People with Learning Disabilities
    • Medically compromised and physically disabled adults
    • Frail Older People
    • Adults with severe mental health problems
    • Adults with challenging behaviour, anxiety, or dental phobia
    • Adults in secure units and prison

    Treatment may involve sedation and general anaesthetic.

    You will be responsible for clinical governance, training, management, and supervision of some areas.
