**Agency Credit Controller (with Insurance experience)
12mth Fixed Term Contract

Location can be Colchester, London or Lisbon**We are looking for a Credit Controller who has experience working in the Insurance industry.

Ideally with Syndicate experience, but that would be the icing on the cake.

The main objective of this role is to support the Agency team in managing their cash and credit control activities by providing an efficient and high quality service.

The Agency Credit Controller will work closely with the Policy Administration team, AgencyFinance Operations teams, Underwriters and Brokers to make sure that cash is received and allocated in a timely manner.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Accurate, timely and efficient data entry and quality checking of cash receipts as per Hiscox standards
  • Responsible for: premium collections, commissions payments, refunds and other payments
  • Distribute monthly statements and correspondence of overdue accounts to our clients and resolve any questions so that open items are settled promptly
  • Liaise with internal and external parties to respond to and resolve queries within processing deadlines
  • Manage and run the direct debt process, to reconcile differences on client and broker accounts, disburse cash received, help recover and resolve outstanding, overdue debts and manage a small brokers portfolio
  • Analysis of Ageing report
  • Maintain and update Process documentation and task Log
  • Participate in the implementation of continuous improvement, data cleansing and change project work
  • Any other adhoc work from the agency finance operations specialist or the head of finance operations

What you'll bring

  • Experience in insurance credit control processes is essential
  • Can maintain excellent attention to detail
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
  • Innovative and open minded in approaching issues and determining solutions
  • Confident communicator who builds good relationships across the business
  • Ability to travel to varying Hiscox offices, if needed.

  • Experience of Oracle general ledger
