Machine Operative - Bradford, United Kingdom - Luxury Fibres Limited

Reporting to the Production Manager this is a full-time permanent role.

You will be required to work as part of a small team, in a busy/noisy environment to operative Platt 600 carding machines.

Previous experience as a machine operative in this environment is preferred but not essential. Due to the nature of the machine, if no previous experience, full training will be given before lone working.


ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is not an exhaustive list of duties but gives an outline of the role and responsibilities of this position.

Main Duties
Platt 600 Carding Machine - (takes short fibres, the carding machine blends various short fibres together to create a web which is packed into bales and sold, logged and weighed by Warehouse Operative)

Cashmere carding

Blend fibres as instructed through blending hopper

Feed carding machine

Recognise faults in the fibre

Report faults to Supervisor

Maintain & clean the machine


Health & Safety
Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security in the work environment

Comply with health and safety regulations

Wear relevant personal protective equipment as required

General Duties

Maintaining a safe and clean work environment

Carry out any other duty as assigned by the Manager

Any other suitable tasks the business feels are appropriate.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Good written and spoken English

Educated to GCSE standard (or equivalent)

FLT licence would be an advantage


PREFERRED SKILLS
Previous experience têxtile manufacturing environment is preferred but not essential

Mechanical/Electrical knowlegde

Good communication skills

Able to work as part of a small team

Reliable

Ability to work to deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail

Any other suitable tasks the business feels are appropriate.
