Description

The role of the Administrative Assistant within the Children and Young Peoples Services in Northumberland is a busy, challenging and rewarding one.

You will be required to work Wednesday and Thursday on a working pattern between the hours of 08:00 - 19:00 to meet service need.


You will be based at Chad House in Hexham, working on reception, taking calls, assisting clinical colleagues, typing appointment letters, clinic letters, scanning for the wider team, working from a shared inbox, updating RIO, working as part of an administration team taking direction on workload from the Admin Team Lead / Pathway Co-Ordinator.


The post holder will be able to demonstrate the ability to deal with possible exposure to highly distressing or highly emotional circumstances and will be expected to ensure they participate on all relevant training courses appropriate to the role.

The Post holder will preferably have experience of working in Mental Health and Learning Disability services or a similar work environment but not essential and have the following core skills which are essential to the post:

  • Experience in a customer / patient and service user focused environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal Skills
  • A good understanding of the RIO system (not essential as training given to those who have not worked on this system before)
  • A good knowledge of Microsoft word/office packages
  • Typing skills/qualification
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be selfdirected, motivated and be able to contribute positively within a team
  • Well organised and structured
  • The post holder will be expected to demonstrate flexibility in the role
