Forest Court Care Home( Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire, GL17 0DR) is a 40 bed dementia nursing home for the elderly. Forest Court Care Home has an excellent reputation in the area and has a "Good" CQC rating.

We are searching for a maintenance assistant/driver to join our team on a FULL TIME OR PART TIME BASIS.

30 hours a week - £9.50 per hour

Timing to be determined by rota and requirements of the care home

Will include shared weekend duties including driving duties

The main requirements of the Maintenance Assistant / Driver are:

To assist management with general delivery and collection of goods to and from care homes.
To carry out general duties as and when required, and with full consultation and knowledge of the Maintenance Supervisor and Home Manager of the care home.
To undertake daily Driving duties( including weekends) of the company vehicle as required by the Home Manager.

Principal accountabilities and activities:

To ensure the outside of the building and grounds are maintained to a safe and good standard of repair, carrying out any works with the minimum disturbance to residents and/or staff.
To carry out routine repairs and monitoring on all systems. Advise on any potential problems to the Maintenance Supervisor or Home Manager, e.g. heating systems, refrigeration, electrics, gas, and faulty equipment.
To record all COSHH checks in the relevant log books
To assist in keeping accurate records of all service contracts etc, and dates, and all inspections.
To comply with all aspects of Health & Safety at Work Act eg COSHH and other statutory regulations applicable.
To ensure all electrical appliances brought into the care home by residents, relatives and any other persons are checked and tagged safe for use, under the Health & Safety regulations.
To assist in ensuring that safety and cleanliness within the care home and grounds is to the satisfaction of the Environmental Health, Fire and Safety at Work regulations.
To ensure fire alarm system is activated weekly to ensure proper working order and results recorded.
To carry out statutory testing of water services in line with company policy and current codes of practise
To repair fixtures and fittings where possible or liaise with the Maintenance Supervisor/ Home Manager if specialist repairs are necessary.
To undertake minor painting and decorating works as required.
