We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Tutor to join the team.

You will be required to deliver a combination of accredited vocational qualifications and employability skills to prepare learners for sustainable employment in the security industry, although experience in the sector is not essential.


Job Summary
The role will cover centres in the North East so ability to travel is essential.

As a Tutor, you must be enthusiastic and passionate about people development. You will need to adapt quickly to learners' needs and be flexible with your delivery methods.


You will be required to identify and assess learners' barriers so that robust and individualised learning plans are in place to support the learner through to achievement and to realise their full potential.


Classroom delivery will include qualifications while supporting learners with employability skills including CV writing, job searches and preparation for interviews.


Key Responsibilities include:


  • Identify the learning needs of learners and define appropriate learning objectives to support the achievement of their qualification
  • You will be responsible for maximising learner achievement and ensuring that learners are provided with an excellent learner experience
  • Deliver high quality differentiated training that meets the Ofsted EIF.
  • Deliver information, advice and guidance to learners as appropriate throughout their qualification
  • Support and maintain the quality assurance process for assessment, training and verification purposes, in line with Skill North East's policies and all related Awarding Body procedures and guidelines
  • Ensure learners' records are maintained and compliance standards achieved
  • Embed Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values, Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety throughout the learner's programme

Essential Criteria:


  • Hold an appropriate teaching qualification; AET, CTLLS, DTTLS, PCE.
  • Sound knowledge of Prevent Duty, Safeguarding and online safety.
  • Ability to design and create engaging classroom activities and supporting documentation.
  • Strong classroom management and qualification assessment skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to motivate and encourage
  • Ability to travel between training centres

Desirable Criteria:


  • Hold Assessor qualification such as D32/33, A1/A2 or Level 3 Award/Certificate in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement
  • At least 12 months' experience delivering employability skills
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
