Description
The King Lab is offering a Post-doctoral Researcher position in the Department of Biology for 10 months. This position will involve bioinformatics analysis of evolutionary interactions between
_Caenorhabditis elegans,_ its microbiome, and a selection of pathogens.

We are seeking an individual with an interest in disease evolution who has experience with microbes and rich bioinformatics expertise, particularly in functional analysis.

This post is part of a dynamic and interdisciplinary research group - the lab of Prof. Kayla King - who works on the ecology and evolution of host-microbe interactions across the mutualist-parasite continuum.

This post is ideally suited for applicants with a PhD/DPhil with a strong bioinformatics component. Previous experience in ecology and evolution is an asset.

The post-holders will report to the PI and be a member of The King Lab. The post holder will work collaboratively on the different genomics projects in the King Lab.

The post holders will provide guidance to less experienced members of the research group, including postdocs, research assistants, technicians, and PhD and project students.

The University of Oxford is committed to equality and valuing diversity. All applicants will be judged on merit, according to the selection criteria.

This is a fixed term contract to 31/01/2025, and is available from 01/11/2023.
