JOB PURPOSE
The senior researcher is responsible for the research that underpins Delinian's awards programmes.

(S)he must be skilled at delivering research projects; driving engagement; handling written submissions; interviewing market executives; working with judging panels; and making decisions around award outcomes.

The senior researcher will be part of NextGen's best-in-class awards research team, which operates across the legal and tax sectors, M&A, banking, capital markets, insurance and energy & infrastructure.

The senior researcher will develop and analyse award submissions, surveys, and other qualitative and quantitative data collection methods; interview industry executives for insights into companies' work; and network and present at events.

(S)he will work with editorial teams to deliver awards programmes that enhance their brands and best serve their markets.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conducting research on assigned awards programmes, including compiling shortlists and winners
  • Project managing research programmes to support the delivery of robust and transparent results to deadline
  • Managing submission documents and entry systems, categories, criteria and methodologies
  • Soliciting and driving engagement from the market
  • Interviewing executives and their clients, as well as marketers and business development professionals (by phone and facetoface)
  • Coordinating with internal research, survey, editorial, commercial, marketing and ops teams on assigned programmes
  • Producing award writeups and related editorial content
  • Attending/hosting/presenting award ceremonies
  • Representing the Group at regional events and in meetings with firms and industry figures

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential

  • Minimum 3 years research experience
  • Highly organised and cool under pressure
  • Ability to keep to deadlines, pick things up quickly and work with agility
  • A great listener and willing learner
  • Strong written English
  • A good telephone manner
  • Basic note taking skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Commercial awareness
Desirable

  • Direct experience delivering awards processes in the B2B industry
  • Experience of managing and coordinating external judging panels
  • Experience in accreditation/benchmarking companies
  • Writing structured reports and editorial copy
  • Facetoface and telephone interviewing in a journalistic or other context
  • Working collaboratively and closely with sales/business development teams
  • Knowledge of the corporate finance environment in a journalistic/research capacity
