Position Overview


As a Laboratory Support Associate in our sci-prep team, you will take responsibility for assisting scientists across R&D functions by completing a variety of support tasks in a laboratory environment.

We are offering this role on a full time, permanent basis.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Aseptic aliquoting of reagents used in tissue culture & basic media prep
  • Preventative maintenance, cleaning & documentation of several laboratory instruments
  • Regularly check chemical and reagent expiry dates and arrange disposal of any outofdate material via the correct waste disposal route
  • Maintain and organise laboratory consumable inventories
  • Laboratory housekeeping, monitoring and keeping communal areas clean and tidy, waste management and specialist equipment user performance checks if required
  • Provide regular glassware and plastics collection, washing and, autoclaving/ sterilisation services (steam, dry or filtration) for the scientists to use within the laboratories

Experience Required

  • GCSE Maths & English and an Interest in Science
  • Full training will be given, previous experience in a laboratory or pharmaceutical/food manufacturing environment desirable but no essential
  • Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions.
  • Computer Literate
