Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities (to be developed over the duration of the apprenticeship) Research Management and Governance Understands the regulatory and ethics requirements for the conduct of clinical research, especially the UK Policy for Health and Social care Research, Good Clinical Practice.

Undertakes the governance reviews for regulatory and research ethics submissions. Supports the feasibility and confirmation of capacity and capability processes. Provides advice and guidance for submission of amendments and checks for impact on original study budget agreements.

Perform the admin related tasks for pre / post approval documentation and updating relevant systems.

Work closely with investigators, academic collaborators, nurses, support departments, external organisations to provide governance advice and support proportionate to their activities.

Understands the relevance of the NIHR processes, MHRA, HRA and CAG requirements and helps researchers to navigate these. Actively involved with the bi-monthly Project Evaluation Panel meeting and take minutes.

Has working and practical knowledge of the various research management information systems e.g.

CPMS, EDGE and ensure accurate data is entered and produce reports required by the department Demonstrates ability to have a good working relationship with a range of stakeholders.

Support the day to day activities of R&D Office. To input relevant study start up information into the web based study management system in a timely manner.
