gap technical are proud to be representing this global manufacturing business in their search for a High Voltage Engineer / Senior Authorized Person to work at their facility based near Wrexham

Performance Objectives

The role is responsible for the day to day maintenance of all HV (up to 33kV) and primary LV distribution (up to 690v). Understanding of HV and LV switching operations, HV/LV isolations, HV fault finding on equipment such as circuit breakers, protectionsystems and transformers.
Site High voltage distribution expert for the site
Site Senior authorised person (SAP up to 33kV)
To maintain the complex electrical distribution and generation network at the site.
Maintain high and low voltage distribution networks using external resource, scheduling, planning resourcing and leading the teams through to completion.
Complete planned and unplanned high voltage switching, including out of hours support.
Manage site code of practice and high voltage safety rules, delivery training mentor and support electrical team, including dedicated trainees.
Ensure site network is maintained to current industry standards and regulatory requirements are maintained and adhered to.
Lead and develop site HV and LV network development, upgrades and planned replacement projects and modernisation.
To promote a safetyfirst culture and be responsible for ensuring that safety systems and procedures are followed within areas of control and responsibility.
Managing a small team of 23 technicians/trainees.
Out of hours site support on rolling rota
Supporting all electrical system support.

Person Specification

3 years + experience working directly with high voltage equipment/complex networks
Be able to demonstrate relevant knowledge of HV & LV distribution systems.
Previous network authorisation required (private or DNO)
