Mechanical Development Engineer

Up to £38/hr - Inside IR35

Peterborough/Remote - Hybrid

12 month initial contract (Long term potential)

A Mechanical Development Engineer opportunity has become available for one of the world's leading manufacturers of off-highway machinery and diesel and natural gas engines.

Each project offers the opportunity to work on the design and development of engines intended to meet the latest emissions legislation, with world-class levels of quality and reliability.

You will be part of a small, friendly team working together to deliverprogrammes that are critical to the long-term success of a respected, global company.

Top 3 must have skills:

Working knowledge of core diesel engine components
Understanding of manufacturing diesel engine assembly processes
Technical capability to manage and run investigation and validation work related to core diesel engine components

Experience in performing some of the below (preferred):

Execution of Core Engine System validation activities
New product development technical issue resolution
Conducting FMEA on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs
Plan and execute validation tests
Conducting component and system design reviews
Support resolution to production, test and field issues, diagnose issues to root cause, put in place containment actions, and develop permanent corrective actions. Work with suppliers and keep stakeholders informed of progress and decisions
