Imperial War Museums are one of the world's leading authorities on conflict and its impact on people's lives - from 1914 through to the present day and beyond.

Their collections are filled with personal stories and experiences, inspiring powerful and oftenconflicting emotions.

IWM aim to share these stories with as many audiences as possible across the world in a way that engages and challenges them, increasing understanding of why we go to war and the effect that conflict has on people's lives.

We are working in partnership with IWM to secure a Communications Manager on a 12-month contract to cover a period of maternity leave.

The postholder will continue to develop and deliver the Communications strategy for IWM's commercial activity, includingcharging historic branches (IWM Duxford, Churchill War Rooms and HMS Belfast), two major annual Air Shows at IWM Duxford in June and September, with 2023 also being the Air Shows' 50th Anniversary, Commercial Events, IWM Publishing, Retail (outsourced) andBrand Licensing.

Degree or equivalent qualification.
Significant relevant PR/communications experience including consumer and/or tourismdriven.
Experience of managing consumer PR for commercial products and/or ticketed activities/events.
Experience of delivering and managing multiple communications campaigns, simultaneously across a number of areas, with measurable outcomes for defined audiences and targets.
Budget management experience.

You will need to be creative and proactive, and display a strong results focus, with the ability to consistently deliver positiveoutcomes and deal with crisis comms if needed.

Being able to take an active role in encouraging and implementing new ideas andworking collaboratively will be essential. Regular travel to Duxford, with expenses paid.
