Description

Severn Wye is looking for a dynamic, outgoing individual to help promote household energy efficiency in communities across Gloucestershire and Herefordshire As Community and Outreach organiser for the Energy Aware Communities 2 project, you will be responsible for promoting our work across both Gloucestershire and Herefordshire.

You will be working with partners attending their public facing events and drop-ins to promote the work we do within the communities they support.

You will also engage and deliver training sessions to these partners on how to spot fuel poverty, the effect fuel poverty can have, and the solutions available.

Partnership working with contacts across the area including Local Authorities, Social Housing and Community Groups is key.

Your work with the public will take a variety of forms, but it is expected that it will include outreach events, stalls, webinars, some social media, and presentations.

We are looking for someone to work closely alongside the Energy Advocate's in the two counties to support those who are fuel poor and struggling with their energy bills.

You will be the first step to assisting residents in both counties, with home energy advice and referring them to our outreach service which supports those facing barriers, to resolve complex energy issues and avoid selfdisconnection.

The Warm and Well scheme, alongside Keep Herefordshire Warm accesses government and local authority grants to improve the energy efficiency of clients' homes.

The role will work closely with our advocacy and adviceline team internally, and externally be a friendly face for our partners.

You'll work alongside Severn Wye's management in building partnerships with other organisations. You will coordinate events for both counties and report to the Project Manager for Advocacy and Communities.

The role is full time with the option of flexible hours, as some weekend and evening working may be required to reach communities effectively.
