Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of treatment plans under the supervision of mental health professionals
- Monitor and document patient behavior, progress, and any changes in condition
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients
- Assist with daily activities, including meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement therapeutic interventions
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
- Participate in treatment team meetings and provide input on patient progress
- Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance with healthcare standards
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Empathy and compassion for individuals with mental health conditions
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and handle challenging behaviors
- Excellent observation skills to monitor patient behavior and identify any changes or concerns
- Basic knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment approaches
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a mental health setting is beneficial but not required
- CPR certification is preferred but can be obtained upon hire
