We are looking for a Health Care Assistant to join our busy, but friendly Gynaecology emergency unit based at our Basildon site

If successful, you will work in multi-disciplinary team within the gynaecology emergency unit to provide a seamless service & high-quality care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.


You will undertake care to meet the needs of the patients under the supervision of a qualified nurse, working within the Trust's policies and procedures and the philosophy of the department, working collaboratively as part of the clinic team.

But responsibilities include:

  • Promote a culture of health and wellbeing though providing information, advice and support for bereaved women.
  • Chaperone and assist medical and nursing staff in Manual vacuum aspirating (MVA) and vaginal examination
  • Coordinate clinics ensuring patients are prepared for their appointment and seen as quickly as possible
  • Taking and recording of temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and pain scores on instruction from the Registered Nurse. Accurately recording the results and reporting significant findings.
