Are you an organised, creative individual with a passion for children's books?

Based in London, we publish award-winning children's books for ages 0-13. This exciting and varied role is an excellent opportunity for a Press Officer to join our motivated team.


Reporting to the Publisher, you will liaise with authors, working on publicity campaigns and events across our three imprints, New Frontier, Catch a Star and Little Steps.

Our team works remotely with fortnightly meetings in our office in High Street Kensington.


Responsibilities:


  • Write and edit press releases, media advisories, and other communications materials
  • Conduct research and gather information for press releases and media outreach
  • Coordinate media relations activities, including pitching stories to journalists
  • Assist in organising press conferences, interviews, and other media events
  • Monitor media coverage and prepare reports on media trends and coverage of the organisation
  • Manage social media accounts and create engaging content for various platforms
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to develop communication strategies and campaigns
  • Identify and compile media lists appropriate for each book
  • Maintain and foster media contacts

Skills:


  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of social media management tools and strategies
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with key print, online and book contacts
  • Experience working with Teams, Jira and Buffer desirable but not essential
  • 12 years working in publishing (ideally children's publishing)

Salary:
£25,500.00-£27,000.00 per year


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Work Location:
Hybrid remote in London
