**Data Analyst, Castle Donington

Their depot in Castle Donington are seeking a temporary Data Analyst to assist their team pulling together a temporary New Connections scheme database and populate it ahead of Design and Development developing a long standing NGED tool and/or amending theircurrent internal database.


This is a temporary contract intially but i could be an opportunity to get your foot in the door with a large organisation with permanent opportunities.

Excellent hourly rate, holiday entitlement rising to 26 days + bank holidays after 12 weeks, free parking


Brief Assignment Description


Develop and populate a Temp New Connection tracker database, to track status and progress of all accepted N/C schemes across NGED.

Tool should facilitate various KPI reports and amalgamate various Planner and Team tracker functionalities.

An understandingand experience of programming languages such as Python and SQL would be advantageous, along with advanced use of MS Excel, including VB, pivot tables and reporting.

Someone that can autonomously decipher large data sets and independently deliver options onhow the data can be stored, analysed and presented.


Responsibilities:


  • Identify and recommend an optimum platform and package to utilise.
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality
  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources, populate and maintain databases/data systems
  • Resolve ad hoc and systematic data system issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Requirements and skills
  • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
A HNC/HND or equivalent qualification demonstrating numeric and analytic proficiency is ideal.

Length of assignment: 3-6 month starting second/third week in January.
