Job Purpose
The role of Inside Sales has four primary functions (which can change as the business requires) focused on maintaining, upselling and cross-selling Excalibur services into the existing business mobile base


The primary functions are:

Drive base growth through upselling & cross-selling

  • Target existing business mobile customers for crossselling of Internet Connectivity and Unified Comms opportunities (crosssell = new pillar)
  • Identify and pursue upsell opportunities where a customer has an existing service from Excalibur (upsell = more of existing pillar)

Base maintenance & renewals:


  • Manage an unallocated base of business customers to minimise Out of Contract (OOC) customers and prevent churn by proactively contacting and renewing customers who are, and are due to be Out of Commitment/Contract (OOC) for mobile, connectivity, fixed andUC services.

Customer Landscaping:


  • Capture and record into our CRM system future products and/or services that are not already with Excalibur in the form of 'Expiries and Opportunities' which will feed into the pipeline for inside sales, or referral to the broader sales team.
  • Identify and input immediate sales opportunities for Inside Sales or the broader sales team where relevant

Customer information management:


  • Obtaining, maintaining & cleansing key customer information within our CRM system (contacts, company profile, addresses and so forth).
  • Recording activity, notes, and key communications within our CRM system.
  • Contact customers where future expiries have been recorded to prequalify and obtain further supporting data such as thirdparty bills for analysis

Key Responsibilities

  • Consistently achieve monthly & quarterly sales KPI's & targets including dials and talk time
  • Develop, maintain & convert a pipeline of opportunities
  • Renewal of customers against set criteria & within cost parameters
  • Increase revenue for the existing customer base
  • Seek out new business & crosssell leads & opportunities
  • Accurate recording of information on our CRM
  • Accurate forecasting for the business
  • To be organised and able to prioritise work to meet targets & deadlines
  • Carry out any other reasonable jobrelated tasks assigned as required by the business
  • Ensure customer requests and orders are completed accurately & in a timely manner
  • Adherence to SLA's & customer service standards
  • Maintain professional internal & external relationships.

Critical Competencies

  • Proven Sales experience in a fastpaced environment
  • Keen interest in IT and Unified Communications
  • Be goal and target driven and focused to achieve
  • Strong communicator and relationship builder
  • Good telephone manner
  • Ability to articulate information in writing
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail


  • Strong IT skills

  • Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint

  • Experience in a customerfacing role, either customer service and/or sales in a Telecoms / Unified communications environment
  • Assertive and enthusiastic to change how things are done with the ability to work independently

  • Willingness to get stuck in & do what is required to get the job done for the best outcome for you, your peers and the customer
