Alecto Recruitment is in partnership with an established Machine Tool Service company based in West Yorkshire who are looking for an experienced Servcie Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

Due to continued growth, our client is looking for a Machine Tool Service Engineer to join their existing team and asisst with high quality service they offer to their clients both inhouse and field based.

The Role:

Initially it is envisaged that this will be working work with customers and AB engineers both office based on the phone and also on site to diagnose and correct electrical and PLC software issues encountered with our existing machine relating to the interfacewith the control system and drives.
The company intends to grow the retrofit side of the business providing new electrical panels and updated CNC systems for their existing machines.
Laser Calibration using RENISHAW laser equipment to measure machine inaccuracies and, if fitted, by using the control systems positional correction data reduce the errors to within specifications. (Training will be provided if required)
Backing up control system software using various PC software packages (dependant on system fitted to the machine).
The role is based at oin Brighouse West Yorkshire, however, your working location can be flexible throughout the UK
There may occasionally be a requirement to travel abroad for short periods.
As you are the face of the Company, you must present a confident 'can do' attitude.
You will be expected to comply with all Health and Safety regulations of the company.
To support the Company in securing more potential business, by identifying and submitting engineer leads for new service contracts or opportunities for additional spares, service or refurbishment work.
Drive the implementation of engineering best practice procedures and maximise both effectiveness and efficiency within the job.
To handle any challenging situations with customers in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

What we are looking for:

Recognised Engineering apprenticeship.
Essential you will have a valid UK driving license ( Clean Preferred )
Experience in dealing with both Manual and Computer Numerically Controlled Milling Machinery.
Fault diagnosis of both Electrical and Machine PLC Software problems on Machine tools.
Knowledge of Heidenhain, Siemens and Fanuc PLC logic including it's interrogation and modification
Preferred
That the person has experience in writing PLC software for recent Heidenhain controls in particular.
The ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent attention to detail and enjoy problem solving.
The ability to read and understand Hydraulic schematic drawings and electrical schematics.
A basic knowledge of Mechanical and Hydraulic work together with an aptitude for practical work.
The desire to gain knowledge.
Good computing skills ( Microsoft Office )
Electrical drafting and PLC software writing experience ( Desirable )

Salary:
£35,000 - £40,000 per annum (Negotiable) + Overtime

Working Hours:
Monday - Friday hour week
