We're looking for an operationally-focused individual, who is a high-achiever, energetic, detail-oriented, organized, passionate about hospitality, and an excellent communicator to join our team.

The facilities Coordinator at Sonder is responsible for supporting the maintenance team that delivers a flawless guest experience. They're detail-oriented individuals who love directing the maintenance team on their daily adventures.

Facilities Coordinators are forces for good, who learn quickly, teach thoroughly, and keep all stakeholders happy and engaged while not afraid of getting their hands dirty.

This is a great role for an experienced coordinator looking to act in a lead role on a facilities team that enjoys digging into and solving facilities mysteries across multiple trades and building types.


AT SONDER YOU WILL:


  • Direct the daily activities and tasks of the Maintenance Technicians in the city team. Ensures timely and quality maintenance delivery to guests
  • Manage the workflow and task sequence for Reactive and Preventative Maintenance, acting as the main point of contact on the ground.
  • Creates/Coordinates work orders for technicians, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Coordinate a preventive maintenance plan including coordinating periodic maintenance of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other building or room equipment.
  • Conduct thorough unit walkthroughs and maintenance checks, and assess the readiness of property or units.
  • Source parts/materials and maintain inventory levels
  • Inspect the quality of repairs to a highlevel finish in guest rooms and guest spaces. Including furniture, doors, windows, patch and paint, and other hardware.
  • Support the maintenance team with SOPs and other best practices to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while completing tasks related to maintenance, repairs, or installations.
  • Organize and document project information and updates
  • Direct contractors as they paint, build furniture, hang art, photograph, and clean
  • Travel to various buildings/cities as required
  • Lead projects or other specialized work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT WE LOOK FOR:


  • Minimum 12 years in a coordinator/administration role working in the property/facilities/construction/maintenance field(s)
  • A proven track record of prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines
- you will be working independently 70% of the time and therefore must be skilled in managing your own time

  • Experience working as a maintenance engineer is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to identify and convey critical information to stakeholders quickly and precisely
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
  • A perfectionist that obsesses over all the details
  • Ability to take the initiative and problem solve independently
  • Professional demeanor and strong ability to establish positive relationships with others
  • Motivated to adopt new and emerging technologies
  • Knowledgeable with Google Suite
  • A willingness and enthusiasm to get your hands dirty when needed
  • A background in construction, hospitality, or operations is a plus
  • Must have a flexible schedule and open to working some weekends as business requires
  • Ability to delegate tasks effectively and leverage team efforts reporting back concisely and regularly with the Property Manager
  • This role requires a willingness to travel between properties on a daily basis when working.
