We are looking for people to join us who care about others and want to make a difference in their community.

Are you that person?

You will be a critical part of a close-knit team who deliver, install, collect and service community equipment in predominantly domestic settings based in Torbay whilst also covering Plymouth providing relief cover when required.

This equipment is supplied to vulnerable people, to allow them to remain independent in their homes, allowing the NHS and Social Services to deliver frontline care where it is needed most.

This equipment and the service you will provide is a lifeline to many vulnerable people, and you will ensure that the equipment you are delivering is fitted correctly and the client knows how to use it, providing reassurance to our clients that their equipment is available when they need it most.

Although the job may be challenging at times, what you will gain in abundance is satisfaction and pride in the knowledge that you are genuinely making a difference to vulnerable people in your community.

You'll benefit from in depth training for this role, but basic DIY skills and a good level of physical fitness is important to set you on the right path.

You will also need to be able to communicate effectively whilst displaying kindness and empathy as many of the clients you will visit are classed as vulnerable.

You may also at times visit clients who are receiving end-of-life care, so you will also need to be resilient when faced with difficult circumstances.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • To collect, deliver and install a varied assortment of healthcare equipment to our service users.
  • To demonstrate when required the use and function of the equipment (as per induction training).
  • Undertake scheduled maintenance on community equipment including profiling beds, hoists, pressure care equipment and other daily living aids, predominately within service users' properties.
  • To follow a prescheduled route ensuring the smooth and timely delivery of our equipment.
  • Report or handle any queries, questions, or issues during visits.
  • To log all activity on company provided scanners.
  • There will be a requirement to work on a rota basis to support out of hours activity, for which you will receive a oneoff bonus payment plus overtime for all hours worked.
- _Please note this is not an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities_

About You

  • A positive cando attitude
  • To hold a current, valid driving licence. Experience in driving a company vehicle preferred. For insurance purposes you must have held a UK driving licence for at least 3 years.
  • Basic DIY skills and be physically fit as the role will involve lifting and carrying equipment.
  • PDA experience advantageous but not essential as we will provide you with full training.
  • To have experience of PAT & LOLER Testing is an advantage but full training is provided.
  • Understanding of Health and Safety practices.
  • Excellent customer service skills, friendly and approachable as you will be dealing with members of the public, many of whom are elderly or vulnerable.
  • Good communication skill, resilience, flexibility, and an empathetic nature.
