Primary School Support Worker

  • Classroombased role
  • Fulltime (8:30am 15:30pm)
  • Very competitive rates of pay (£75 £85 depending on experience)
  • Termtime only

Active Recruitment are working closely with a fantastic mainstream Primary school in Harlow, who are looking for an enthusiastic Youth Support Assistant to assist and motivate KS1 and KS2, SEN pupils.

You will be supporting young people with various individualneeds which may include ASD, ADHD and associated mild behavioural needs. If you are passionate about working with children and want to make a difference into the lives of young learners with Special Needs, this would be an excellent opportunity for you


Roles of the Youth Support Assistant will include

  • Work closely with young people in KS1 and KS2 with additional learning needs such as ADHD and Autism in the classroom to ensure that they can participate and progress
  • Deliver 1:1 learning support, supporting with social and academic skills
  • Reporting the schools SENCO/ Inclusion Lead providing detailed daily feedback and learning progress reports.
  • Support the teacher in behaviour management and keeping pupils on task based on the expectations for individual pupils

Requirements:


  • Available to commit to a fulltime, longterm position
  • Previous experience inspiring and motivating pupils who display challenging behaviour
  • Primary aged support experience (not necessarily within a school)
  • Calm, patient and caring approach to working with children
  • Confident in your approach and able to deliver effective interventions
